During recent years quite a number of hospital staff has been trained in various formats in Germany in hospital management. On Friday, 17th March 2017 alumni of the group who also successfully completed an MBA course in Hospital Management were invited to a meeting and exchange of experience with Ambassador Jürgen Borsch und representatives of the GIZ Health programme.
Most of the alumni have been working as Chief Administrative Officers at different hospitals in the country.
The Malawi German Health Programme is drawing on the expertise of the alumni in its support to the hospital reform agenda of the Malawi Ministry of Health. They will assist in strengthening hospital management teams at central and district hospitals and tutor other hospital managers in training activities supported by the German Development Cooperation. Frequent exchange of knowledge, sharing of best-practices and benchmarking will help hospital managers to provide the environment clinicians need to deliver high quality services to the Malawi population.
