Kawale Football Club (KFC) of Lilongwe is one of the beneficiaries of the Germany’s International Sports Promotion.
On 18 September 2012 the German Embassy in Lilongwe handed over a set of jerseys and footballs to KFC during a lively ceremony punctuated with music, dance and football drills demonstration.
The goal of KFC's Football With a Human Face programme is to reduce the prevalence of HIV/AIDS, drug and alcohol abuse among the youth from the city’s high density areas. The club, therefore, incorporates sensitisation sessions into its events.
Handing over the consignment, Deputy Head of Mission Mr Johannes Scharlau commended the club’s leadership for its innovative ideas and commitment to youth welfare.
Observing that only boys were organised into teams, Mr. Scharlau challenged the club to improve the engagement of girls in sports.

KFC Coordinator Mr Edward Mponda was optimistic that the new equipment would not only increase access to sports but also enhance performance.
The club participates in a number of competitions including the Lilongwe District Football League.
