"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" so goes the popular saying. Others have elaborated that education is not complete without sports. It is in this spirit that the German Embassy in Lilongwe donated various items including vests and volleyballs to Nkhoma Community Day Secondary School.

Speaking on behalf of the school, Deputy headmistress Mrs Lexa Chapota said the donation has eased pressure on the schools budget and will go a long way in improving sports at the school.

The donation is the first of a series of donations that the embassy will make to various schools and sports organisations across Malawi. The donations are part of  Germany’s International Sports Promotion, which aims to support the development of sport activities in partner countries. The German Foreign ministry also regularly arranges the participation of Malawian coaches at training courses at sport schools and universities in Germany
